Chinese American Culture Night!

R E V E L A T I O N S   Thursday, May 15th   Royce Hall, 7.00 - 10.00 pm     -- doors open at 6.30, seats are first-come, first-served   -- tickets available at the CTO starting MONDAY 05/12/08   -- it's FREE!     The Association of Chinese Americans proudly presents its 19th annual Chinese American Culture Night (CACN): Revelations!!     This year's show focuses on the more modern aspects of Chinese-Americans. Themes include education and media influences, sacrifices of our parents, and internationalization of the world. So prepare yourself for a night of drama, performances, and excitement!     Featuring:   -ACA Hip Hop   -ACA Lion Dance   -ACA Martial Arts   -ACA Traditional Dance   -ACA Lyrical   -UCLA Wu Shu   -Grupo Folklorico   -CACN Drama     Come support your friends who will be performing at CACN or just come to have fun and enjoy a great show!     For those of you who don't attend UCLA but would like a ticket, please email cacn07.08@gmail.com with your full name and number of tickets requested, and we will put available tickets on will call. 25th Year Anniversary Banquet

ACA's 25th Year Anniversary Banquet     We hope you can come to celebrate with us this Friday March 14, 2008 from 7-10 PM in Ackerman Grand Ballroom.     The banquet includes: dinner, performances including ACA Hip Hop, ACA Traditional Dance, an auction, history of ACA showcase and much more! (Because this is a formal event, please dress formally)     This is a very special year for us; as we're celebrating our 25th year, ACA alumni and the six original founders of ACA from 1982 will be attending with their families. LEADERSHiP iN ACTiON Summer Internship

LEADERSHiP iN ACTiON: Summer Internship   Take action NOW by checking out this amazing summer internship!     Leadership in Action (LIA) is an eight-week paid summer internship program designed to develop emerging young leaders by providing college students with practical leadership skills and the opportunity to work hands-on in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in Southern California.     Approaching its 11th year, the program takes learning beyond the classroom, and places the student interns in a range of AAPI community based organizations in order to gain real-life experience working at nonprofits.     The intern's weekly schedule is comprised of 4 days at their assigned community based organization (CBO) and 1 day at LEAP. At the CBO, the intern works with their assigned supervisor on a meaningful project. At LEAP, the intern's day is devoted to leadership development training, issue discussions, CBO site visits and a community impact project. Nationally recognized trainers deliver workshops in critical skill areas.
